Surrounded by more than 300,000 acres of state game lands on the Susquehanna River @ the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains; Settled in 1772, incorporated as a Borough in 1806 and as a City in 1866.
Boasting a rich heritage as the Lumber Capital of the World during the 1800's, Williamsport has grown into a tourist center, manufacturing city, trade & distribution point for an agricultural area.
Residents embrace and protect the historical homes and buildings of the past. The Historical Preservation Society is striving to revive & maintain an eclectic mix of architectural design. Millionaires Row has become a historical district where trolleys bring visitors on a tour back in time.
We are home to Little League Baseball hosting the Little League World Series each year.
Lycoming College for Liberal Arts and the Pennsylvania College of Technology (affiliate of Penn State University) call Williamsport home as well.
